A collection of children's songs aimed at the 8-11 age range. The songs offer an inspiring, colourful and challenging song repertoire for children to enjoy, and to use as material for school concert performances. The collection covers subjects relating to children's common everyday experience - mobile phones, sleepovers, toys, insects, school, fashion - and draws on jazz, blues and other popular musical styles. It sets out to encourage schools to utilise a whole range of musical talents available, from young children who enjoy singing and playing instruments to members of staff who may be talented pianists, guitarists or creative musicians bringing other instruments to the ensemble. The book includes detailed guidance notes for each song, full scores, guitar chords, lyric sheets for the creation of OHP acetates, separate recorder and piano parts.
